I love this Tzimmes recipe which was originated by a good friend’s mother. It’s delicious and rich and is sure to please any guest at your table.
4 cups grated carrots
3/4 cup grated apples,
3 Tablespoon olive oil
3-1/2 cup water
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1-1/2 lb pitted prunes
Combine all ingredients in a 5 quart pot. Cook for two hours until everything cooks down. Adjust seasoning to your own taste (add sugar and honey if you like).
